Conference Recap
The 2021 Alamo MUN Conference was a two day virtual event held Friday, November 5th, and Saturday, November 6th, 2021. We downsized to two committees to enhance the virtual experience, including a present-day Security Council and the UN Human Rights Council. The Security Council covered the topics of Cyber Law and Water Related Conflicts, and the Human Rights Council covered Enforced Disappearances and Indigenous Rights.
All delegates showed great collaboration, improvement, and diplomacy. The Security Council succeeded in passing four resolutions in total, two on Cyber Law, and two on Water-Related Conflicts. The Human Rights Council successfully passed one resolution on Indigenous Rights. The UTSA Model United Nations Society would like to send their sincerest thanks to our guest speakers, Priscilla Moriuchi and Edson Krenak. We were given the opportunity to hear from speakers who have first-hand experience with the topics covered in our conference, with Moriuchi having active involvement in Cyber Operations, and Krenak being an expert on Indigenous Rights. We look forward to hosting another fun and productive conference again next year!
